It’s Time for Action

The next five years will be pivotal for establishing New Zealand's leadership in the global living ocean economy. Ocean-based industries are experiencing unprecedented growth, but this expansion must be anchored in regenerative principles to avoid replicating the mistakes of terrestrial extractive industries.

Katherine Short represents your organisation's opportunity to participate in this transformation from a position of strength, with the expertise, networks, and vision necessary to create lasting positive change. Her commitment to healing-centered, regenerative approaches ensures that your partnership contributes to genuine systemic transformation, the level of change required to address current ocean challenges and unlock New Zealand's regenerative blue economy potential.

Contact Katherine Short today to explore how her three decades of marine conservation leadership, indigenous partnership excellence, respect for blue economy and regenerative systems expertise can accelerate your organisation's contribution to Aotearoa New Zealand's living ocean economy future.

Kia Hora Te Marino

(May the calm be widespread)

Kia Whakapapa Pounamu te Moana

(May the sea glisten as the greenstone)

Kia Tere Te Karohirohi i mua i tō huarahi

(May the shimmer of summer dance across your pathway)

I mua i tō huarahi, a koutou hoa haere, ko te rangimarie.

(and may peace itself be your companion.)

This Karakia, a Māori blessing, is attributed to the tohunga (spiritual leader) Rangawhenua of Ngāti Pahere, Ngāti Maniapoto, from Te Koura Pūtaroa Marae near Taumarunui, and is said to have been spoken over King Tāwhiao before his journey to England in the 19th century as a farewell for safe travel.
